Hi,

Have you thought about Wills? The Chester Record Office lists several Tofts including an Isaac in 1842 from Pickmere - keep in mind that the dates may not always be when the person died.

The Wills are available to buy on-line.

Don't know if it will be of any help, but did you notice on the following page on the 1841 after John Toft age 18, is a Mathew Toft age 16 Ag Lab with a Peter Newton and fmly.

Also on HO107/94 folio 31 pg 14 Rostherne is William Toft Ag Lab age 27.

They may or may not be related.

Kind regards

Thank you all for each section of information.  The John Toft with James Rustidge
is the right one. I do not know if the other ones are cousins or Brothers

I have looked at all records I can find but I do not seem to be having any luck with
John Toft First Marriage.   Thanks again  Bronson

Hi Bronson,

www.lancashirebmd.org.uk has the marriage of:

John TOFT and Martha RUSTAGE 1843 Manchester Cathedral CATH/30/249

Does this seem to be a more likely fit for Martha and Mary aged 7?

The same marriage is also on the IGI, batch M097891:

John TOFT m Martha RUSTAGE 2 May 1843 - perhaps a post on the Lancashire Board would enable someone to lookup the parish record for you and get the details of the couple's respective fathers.
