Edward Walter Griffith - Eglwysbach d1949
« on: Thursday 19 June 08 16:02 BST (UK) »
Trying to piece together information about my gg grandfather

He was Edward Walter Griffith, b 1880, who is buried in St Martins churchyard in Eglwysbach.

He married Selina Frances Ann Hawkins in 1908 in St Margarets Church, Chester (Bucklow district). I belive that he had two brothers Charles and Robert Llewelyn - Robert L, was a chaffeur at Bodnant Hall. and I also believe that both Selina and Edward Walter also worked at Bodnant.

Edward Walter lived at Ty'n-y-bryn farm , just outside Eglwysbach, Charles lived at Fron-isaf farm, outside Eglwsbach, in the 30's / 40's

I'm trying to trace Edward Walter Griffith parents. - his father is named as Edward Stanley Griffith (engine Fireman) on the marriage certificate

Does anyone have any suggestions or informatin where I could go next ?

Many Thanks in advance

Thank you - I'm not sure about this connection but would be lovely to think it was the same one. :)
I will now need to order the birth / marriage certificates to cross reference, and will let you know how I get on

Birth of Elizabeth M Griffith (1891 census above)?

Elizabeth Mary D Griffith Sept 1884 Llanrwst Vol 11b Page 353

I wonder if they were estranged from the Davies-Griffith family because they thought Edward Stanley had married beneath him, might explain why the family never seems to be together, were brought up by various relatives and took ordinary jobs (engine fireman/gardener/groom)  :-\
