Here's a likely one but I'm not sure how it's going to prove or disprove the 1841 census?

Dec 1838 Maldon  12 285
Thomas Belcher to possibly Mary Ann Stevens

Will need a copy of the Certificate I think.

I was looking for Thomas junior and Eliza and family in 1871 when I think they have left Essex and are making their way West via Bedford, Lancashire and the Black Country to end up in Herefordshire on 1881 Census

I have only just found this thread and have read with interest as I think I may have a link to this line.  I can't provide any further information about Thomas Belcher, but could you let me know if your Eliza Anstice/Anstey is the daughter of John Anstice/Anstey and Eliza Chaney?  If so her marriage to Thomas Belcher will add a little bit to my extended tree.  My line comes from one of Eliza Chaney's children by her second marriage, Eliza's half-sister.

I am a descendant of the Belcher family that was on the 1881 census in Herefordshire. My great-grandfather was Ernest John. We're still here and going strong!
Would love to hear from anyone who has info on the Belchers that were in Woodham Walter in the early 1800's.

 :)
