I think I can now say that Robert Welsh Bissett and Robert Welsh Bissett Russell are not one and the same. I have the 1891 Census for RWB living at 131 High Street Dumfries with his family

Janet Bissett Mother age 89

Robert Russell son age 13 born Glasgow
Catherine dau age 11 born Glasgow
Catherine Robertson mother age 83 widow born lanarkshire.
The only problem I now have is to locate Robert Welsh Bissett Russell's birth, and his mother Janet's marriage. I know from Robert W B Russell's marriage certificate that his father was Joseph Russell an iron turner, so I would be eternally greatful if anyone comes across either of these.
I would also like to say a big thankyou to all who have helped me unmuddle my family history, this has taken five years to unravel!
