Could be this one?

Male Boyland March 1842 Axminster Vol 10 Page 5

According to genuki, Stocklands registration district was Axminster between 1837 and 1844....

Hi Cat,

I think there was actually person with the christian name of Male.but unsure.William appears on the IGI/1881 census as being son of James, and another entry shows Robert as father, hence need for a cert. Thanks for that anyway.

1861 census seems to show parents as Robert and Maria, do you have this census?

(in 1851, only mother Maria is present, Robert is a lodger in the house of Elizabeth Harris 69 and Thomas Harris 3 in Chard Somerset)

ps. 1851 census doesn't show any person called "Male Boyland"

On IGI I can see pedigree files for the parents being Robert Boyland and Maria Hooper. Have you seen those ones, theres the contact address of someone who submitted the info, a Boyland himself, not you is it??....

Yes Cat,I have submitted a part of my tree so Robert would show up.Looking at the IGI Same family if children appear to have been entered with two different fathers ie Robert or james.Inaccurate transcription I guess, but that does not solve which of the two if truely is? I have looked at several sources but nowhere can I get birth details in order to get a cert,I feel sure I have seen a Boyland listed simply as "Male" will have to check that, but that could be difficult to order a cert with just "Male" ?

Yes,the marriage record shows his father as Samuel Boyland, and that fits nowhere,it has been suggested to me that errors of this kind are commom, but that does not help, does it?
