Hi Janet/John  :)

I'm descended from a Denis Forrest of Hollyhill, Cork.  I transcribed all entries from the Whitechurch Parish records between 1827-1845 which contained the name Forrest if its of any interest (including a John baptised 1830).

Would love to share (ie. pilfer  ;)) info on the family.

Hi Simon  I am interested if same one. all I know is on census1850 is My grt grt grandad John Forrest (Blarney)  and his wife frances ( macroom ) It seems from my english records if correct that they married much later than this 1862 and on this certificate states his father denis Forrest farmer and hers jerimiah connell farmer
 the family always thought john came   from macroom but leant later forrest is not a name known
have been sent quite a bit of interesting history of the forrests in blaney  but have never been able to prove 100%  would like to hear more  kind regards janet

I know this post is years after your original message - so sorry, I have only just seen it.

I think we are from the same family... please see my attached family tree jpg.  The John Forrest at the bottom was my grandad.
