Thanks to all that helped, I actually only got the grave number the other day, she was buried in the Buckingham road graveyard, but don't know if there is a headstone there.  one day I will get over to UK and will be able to go and check it out...

Best wishes

Mo

Hello Mo
My brother is buried in the Buckingham Road Cemetary, and I hope to visit there in the next couple of months.  If you like I could have a look for your grandmother's grave to see if there is a headstone, if you'd care to give me the grave number.
Regards
Audrey

Hello again, Mo

I will see what I can do, and let you know.  If I remember I'll take my camera and try to get a half-decent picture for you.  Or even a decent one!

Regards
Audrey

Hi Mo and Schumi
I work in Ilford - if either of you want me to look for the graves for you, I'm happy to - although it sounds as though you might want to visit for yourself, Schumi, and if you're in no hurry Mo, you might prefer to wait.

Hi JB
I'm coming to Ilford next week, probably on the 31st.  My brother died when he was a baby, back in 1944, and I've never been to the grave, so two birds with one stone.  I'll have a quick look for Mo's while I'm there, if I have time, but she may like someone to have a more thorough search.  Thanks for the offer anyway.

I left Ilford in 1959, and haven't been back since about 1972, so it has probably changed out of all recognition since then.
Regards
Audrey

Hello again Mo
I went to the cemetery yesterday as promised, and saw the two graves.  Your grandmother's doesn't have a headstone unfortunately, just a small stone vase or urn which has got broken in half over the years.  I took the liberty of putting a bunch of flowers on it, as well as on  my brother's.
It's quite a large cemetery, so it was a good job the church warden had looked everything up and marked the graves for me.  He's even given me the map he'd printed of the places marked off, and one of his assistants went round with me.  All very helpful - they even gave  me a cup of coffee and some biscuits beforehand!  Hope this has  been of some help.  I did try getting a couple of photos but the camers was playing up, so I'm not sure if they came out or not.  If they did I'll send you them.
Regards
Audrey

Hello Audrey

Oh how kind of you to put some flowers on the grave... it is really appreciated... ah well never mind about the headstone... maybe one day I will be able to put some sort of marker on the grave... she deserves that much...

how kind of the staff there to give you a cuppa...

as for photos if they came out well that would be great but if not its no problem I am just so grateful for the time you put in... will light a candle for your brother and my gran tomorrow up in the church

Thanks again

Mo
