census search needed.
« on: Sunday 22 June 08 12:16 BST (UK) »
Hi there, I don't have access to Ancestry.com anymore and i need to look up the Hornbuckle family.

George Hornbuckle (Abt. 1882) Nottinghamshire, England married a Mary ? (Abt. 1889) Nottinghamshire, England. Need marriage details?

They had many children one of which was Ethel May Hornbuckle (Abt. 1891) Totley, Derbyshire, England. Ethel married Thomas Headland in 1909.

Can anyone tell me who is in Georges family and possibly Mary's last name. Also who their parents where.

Many thanks
Lisa

Hi,
I am having some problems with your dates. If George was b 1882 he could not have had Ethel May in 1891.

There is a marriage of

GEORGE HORNBUCKLE with MARY ANN WELLINGTON  Sept 1903  Nottingham 7b 441. Do you think this is a possibility.

Parfait, merci!  :)

The 1861 census shows 2 possible Mary Pikes. Luckily, one of them is still with her parents in 1881 therefore this one should be yours:

1861
RG9/2486 95 27
Keyworth, Nottinghamshire
Blind Lane

John Pike, head, 24, Stockery Frame Wk Knitter
Harriett, wife, 22, ditto
William, son, 4, b. Keyworth
Mary, dau, 2, b. do.

No birth places shown for the parents but 1871 says Keyworth.
