Searching for this man on the 1891 census, a researcher came up with the following,
" There is an outbound passenger list of interest.
On 18 September 1924, Segt H Kubitzsch, 26, soldier, left London as a 3rd class passenger on the Llanstephan Castle, whose final destination was Durban, contracted to land at Dar es Salaam. "

There was talk of this man Heinrich in the photo as after his service yrs being a postman or such like, and later rejoining the military service.
Looking at the history of the above mentioned ship, could this possibly be a Post mans uniform?.
I found one web site that suggested the buttons at this period should be black, they were allowed to keep there strips.. I cannot find anything on line in the way of uniforms...

any thoughts?.
