So Prue, do you think that the Buffalo Bill show would have used local 'stars' in their overseas performances? Would this be seen as a risque occupation for a young woman at that time?
Annie, is this girl definitely an ancestor of the person who sent them to you?
Just considering the possibility that she may just be an ancestor's pin-up girl, with no family connection. You know what it's like, you have a few photos of someone you fancy, photos end up in a drawer under some old papers, then one day after you're dead, someone digs them out and wonders who they're related to - They put two and two together, and get five ....
Perhaps some investigation of the family would be the best starting point - try to trace the family of the person who gave you the photos, to see if this girl fits in anywhere? I know that the surname Hands is from the W.Midlands - I have some in my tree. Humphries is a bit more widespread (I have some of them too, but spelled differently

Ohh I see you have just posted Annie - that looks an interesting census find. I think the girl looks more like 19 than 29 though,
but perhaps Sarah Crockett didn't know her age, or she may have lied about her age when she ran off to join the circus ....
