Hi Beannie,
I see you have mentioned a family called Milligan.

I'm searching for James and Matilda Milligan (Kirkmaiden) and also
Wallace and Margaret (Stoneykirk).
I wonder if you can help.
Many thanks

Hi Ship,
There are four Milligan's in the MI book for Kirkmaiden and four in Stoneykirk, but none in the names you've given. What time frame are you looking at? They could be relatives. If you give me more info I will have another look.
Kind Regards
Beannie

Hi Beanny, thanks for your really quick reply.

Grace Milligan (b 1800) was married to John Dorman who was born in Stoneykirk (b1793). So her parents Wallace and Margaret Milligan would be the generation before, sorry no dates as yet.

James (b1811)+ Matilda  (b 1814) Milligan were born in Ireland but lived much of their life in Kirkmaiden, their 4 children Edward, Isabella, James and Matilda were born there.

Is Milligan a common name in this area?

Many thanks for your help

Hi Ship,
I'm sorry there are no Milligan's that match your names and dates. I have quite a few relatives that I know died in Kirkmaiden, I just can't find where they are buried as there isn't a headstone for them which is such a shame.
Kind Regards
Beannie
