BAMFORD from West Indies
« on: Thursday 26 June 08 03:48 BST (UK) »
Hi there

My BAMFORD gg grandfather, his brother and mother immigrated to UK between 1861 and 1871.
All three were born in Antigua, West Indies. If they were of UK stock, would they need to be naturalised?

Their names are:

1. Henry White BAMFORD 1847 - 1905 Gold Watch Case Maker living in Islington, London / Middlesex from 1871 to 1891, then Wimbledon until his death. Married to Ellen Elizabeth RHODES in 1872

2. Edwin Arcum BAMFORD 1853 - 1936 Gold Watchmaker living in Islington, London / Middlesex from 1871 to 1936. Married to Frances Isabelle LEITH in 1883.

3. Mary Ann BAMFORD - maiden name unknown, b. ca 1824 West Indies, death not confirmed - possibly 1886 in St Pancras. The boys fathers name was William BAMFORD, a sugar planter - but I don't know where he was born or died - maybe West Indies.

Quite a few unknowns ...
Can anyone help please
