Hi, I'm descended from Abrahalls from the Newent, Gloucestershire area. John Abrahall born abt 1755 and his wife Martha ended up in Aston Ingham, Herefordshire and are buried with a headstone in the churchyard there. If you theink there's a connection, happy to share further info.

The name Abrahall is registered with the Guild of One Name Studies (http://www.one-name.org/index_A.html) although there is no link to a specific website for the name but you can get in touch via the site if you're interested. You will also find loads of links if you do a general search - the family held land in Foy, Herefordshire and have been traced back to 1372 by various people. There is even a coat of arms featuring three hedgehogs!

Good luck and let me know if you need further info. on the Glos. branch.

Best wishes
Karin

Hi Karin
I'm afraid I do not think there is a connection , the only son that I have found for John and Margaret is a John Abrahall and I think he only had 3 daughters Elizabeth, Susanna and Martha all born in Yarkhill but thank you for your reply.
Regards Julie.

Many thanks for the info. We had been able to get the date of death from the headstone and this confirms she was buried a few days later.

Best wishes and good luck with your research.

Karin

Thanks, if anyone is ever interested, we know what happened to Priscilla so feel free to get in touch. Not sure about the other siblings.

I did a quick google on the Rev Whatley and others may be interested to know there is a site with many images of Aston Ingham and people who lived there over the years - you may know it already but the link is:

http://www.commanet.org/searchLink.aspx?language=English

A search on Aston Ingham brings up all the records for that village.

Thanks again, Karin
