WW1 Service records
« on: Friday 27 June 08 15:37 BST (UK) »
Hi

Please could I have a little advice.

My Grandfather  WILLIAM THOMAS SCREETON served like many in WW1 as a radio operator on the minesweepers.

The only service record I could find is attached, but gives me very little detail.

Could there be more detail as to where & when he served during his service or is this all that I could expect.

Kind regards Judi

Hi Judi,

My late father served in the RNVR during WW1. I haven't been able to find his Service Record at Kew, & would be interested to know how you managed to find your one there.

Also...I wrote to the FAAM asking for info, & they sent me Ledger Entries for my father & his brothers who also served in the RNVR in WW1. Not that much info...but it does list all of the ships that they served on; which is helpful.
