If you go to www.192.com then type in Purdy and Broughshane in appropriate boxes, the return may give you some starting points. You will notice on one of the Electoral returns, there are two Purdys noted along with a White in the same household.

Also, do a second search this time Purdy and Ballymena. One of the returns from this should be a Purdy in the Aughafatten area, which would have been adjacent to Loughconnelly.

Hi scotmum , thank you  :)
I am  madly googling here, using the  Purdy names from 192 that you have found to see if I can glean some more info on them -  and  on my travels I have just found a  Mrs Purdy working as a leader in one of the organisations in the second Broughshane church, she wouldn't be a Purdy but her Hubby would of course .

I can see one of the reasons why maybe John  married in the second Broughshane , and Thomas in the first   - just reading some of the the history,(Thomas's  marriage was before it opened, whilst John's marriage was in the  latter half of the 1800's). I may write a few  letters  and send them out to a few of the Purdies to see if they are my family (it  should take me quite a good few months to write it ;D ).

The Purdy in Aughafatten area looks good and the others -  can't go past  anyone who has the same Christian names - my gran's father named both his boys Thomas and John - John juniors children ,I think there is a good chance that one or more would be called John or Thomas too :) - if the boys are alive today they would be probably be very late 60's , more likely in their 70's.

Funny about the White in with a Purdy (  I know White is a common name around that area) , but that was what John's Purdy's wife's ( Mary McNeill)  mother's  maiden name was.

Thank you for your  above help
It's very much appreciated
Kind Regards :)

Do keep us up-dated on any outcome.

You may have already come across the following, but if not, I hope it is another area to search:

http://www.freewebs.com/snake43/bshaneareachurches.htm

at this link are named two Purdy men who were linked to Carnalbana Church, again not that far from Loughconnelly.
