There's a Coleraine poster on Genforum who is researching the Barr family.

She may be the NIFHS member ... http://tinyurl.com/64wv9a

Yes there is a John Barr married to Catherine Bratton/Britain a great great grandmother of mine. She had a Wiliam Archibald Barr who then had my granda John Barr.

Can I ask what your relationship is to Catherine and if she is the same Barr?

Thanks for replying

Hi
No probs.
Same Catherine and your William is an older brother of my Great grandfather Herbert. So I guess that makes us some sort of distance cousins.

If John Barr is the great great grandfather of you both, then you are 3rd cousins.  :)

Hi there,
I found an entry for David Barr in the 1831 Census for Co. Londonderry. If you search for 1831derrycensus, you should get a website for Bill Macafee, where you can download a PDF file. Hope this helps.
I don't know where this street is, probably no longer exists.
