Ponters from Bath England
« on: Saturday 22 January 05 22:04 GMT (UK) »
I am interested in James and Mary Ponter from bath Somerset. Both born circa 1808- Mary died 1884, and James before 1873, but no exact date. I have 1851-1881 census information .  children wereJames. William, John, Hester, Ruth (twins), Edward, Elizabeth. My direct line is William 1836-?. He married Fanny Morris in Wales.  I can follow them but I would like to fill in some dates, for others. and see what happened to the siblings if possible.  many thanks to all those who can help...Donna

Hi. I added the information,to my sister's tree on ancestry.  Edwin James Jones then would be my second  cousin 2x removed.   James Ponter and Mary Ann Crisp are my 3x great  grandparents.   Son William Thomas  Ponter (1834-1864), married Fanny Morris in 1856. Their son William Thomas Ponter ( 1862-1899) Giants Grave , died Glasgow.  Their daughter Elizabeth Ponter (1895-1963), married William Henderson Petrie ( 1893-1967)- my  grandparents

Hi Donna, that's really interesting. Did did William Thomas Ponter (1834-1864) die in Swansea? or Britton Ferry?

You mention Giants Grave..this is in a village called Britton Ferry, My James Ponter and Elizabeth are recorded in the 1861 census also living in Giants Grave his occupation is an Engineer.

Kind regards
Kim
