Dolobran, Montgomershire, Wales
« on: Tuesday 01 July 08 16:32 BST (UK) »
I have just begun this great adventure! I am a descendent of Thomas Lloyd of the Lloyd family from Dolobran, Montgomeryshire, Wales.  I am searching for a photograph of the family place in Dolobran and also am interested in any information that may be available regarding the Lloyd family.  I greatly appreciate your assistance!!  Thank you for taking the time to respond!

If you search old threads on here, "Tricia_2" seems to have a lot of info about the family incl. photos, if you contact her she may be able to help

Regards

You're welcome, it is the best site around, any brickwalls you have, post them on here and someone will most likely be able to break them down for you! I joined rootschat in 2004 and hardly been off it since!! ;D

I too am a descendent of the Lloyd of Dolobran family. I'm looking for, of all things, a connection to Warwick Castle and I stumbled upon this site. Looks like fun :)

Did you find any pictures like you were looking for?

NO, I wasn't able to find pictures of Dolobran.  However, I am hoping to come to Wales withing the next year
and take a photograph myself.  That would be a dream come true!   So what is your lineage from Dolobran?
How wonderful to meet you - I look forward to hearing from you again... thanks for your reponse -

Hmmm...there are pix out there somewhere to be found. Never give up. :)

My older brother has been doing our lineage for YEARS and will hopefully be putting a book together soon. I dont have the information with me but I just happen to have something upstairs in my car called "Addendum to the Lloyd Family" or something like that; a copy of some information that talks about Elisig, Ivan Teg etc. a little later I'll go up to my car and get it and reply again with better info...I'm at work right now and cant leave the office at the moment.

Years ago my brother went to the UK and visited Wales in search of family history. I also hope to trek Wales one day in search of. I'll actually be in the UK in August for 3 weeks visiting my lady who lives up in the Leeds area :)

I just realized you said Thomas Lloyd...are you talking about the Governor of Pennsylvania Thomas Lloyd? If so..that probably narrows our relation even further as I'm descended of him as well. I'll find more info and post it later on :)
