Mags,

Thank you so much for looking for these records for me, I really appreciate the time and trouble you have gone to to help me.

I think that the baptism record of William in 1819 confirms that George and Frances were my great, great, great grandfather William's parents.  He states throughout the census years that he was born in 1819 or 1820, his place of birth fluctuates between Stilton and Yakesley.  Three of his children's names are George, Fanny and Marshall.

I would like to say a big thank you to both you and David for your help,  without the pair of you I wouldn't have been able to break down  this brick wall in my research.

Can I just ask you whether there are many Mason or Marshall entries in the parish registers, so that I can decide whether it would be worth purchasing a copy and also whether there are/was more than one church in either Stilton or Sawtry so that I know which registers to look for.

Once again thank you so much for your help, Mags and David.

VeryBest Wishes

Mags,

Thank you will take your advice and not purchase the fiches.  I'm never satisfied was hoping to discover more about Frances Marshall and George Mason and their parents if I purchased the parish registers ::)

Once again thank you so much for your help.

Best Wishes
