Hi
I am wondering if anyone has access to C of E marriage records in Cambridge probably 1944.

I am looking for a marriage between RUSSELL HENRY WARD and MABEL LYDIA SMITH.

I think they were married about Easter 1944. Russell was a worker on the Karapiro Dam and was killed a few weeks after their marriage. He was 21.

I would love to know whether Mabel married again and what has happened to her.

Can anyone help please?

There are two Mabel Smith marriages, but the first doesn't name the spouse.

Sorry Folks! I was on the NZ site and had no idea Cambridge was so insignificant! ::)

It features large in one of my family lines!

Many thanks Bren & Lu  for the Folio info! I am delighted to know Mae Lydia found happiness again - it must have been a real shock to send your young, healthy husband of a few weeks, off to work and for him to die so tragically. Interesting name change from our family recollections!

My original question remains though -  where would I find the Parish Registers?  ( I have made a point of collecting a copy of the original document for all my families from the 1700s onwards!)
