1861 Census Monmouth. - completed.
« on: Monday 07 July 08 20:09 BST (UK) »
I am having trouble reading the address on the 1861 Census for the town of Monmouth.  It is the name of a Building and it looks like it
starts with Turp??  Can anyone help me here.  Sorry, I am not up to
putting a copy up here. Not computer savvy anough for that.  Any help will be appreciated.  It is RG9/3987 page 32 schedule 179.

Looks as if it says SMITH Buildings :) If you look at the pages before and after you'll see the name clearer ;D

Sorry, it is Folio 76, Page 32, Thomas Watkins, Wife Emma and family.
The first letter certainly looks like T not S.  The word Scholar is shown
three times with a very distinctive letter S.  Appreciate your help.

Sam Spade,
Thank you very much for that information.  I was frustrated with this as generally speaking the writing on this Census was very good.  As you know, some are next to impossible to read.  Your time and effort are
appreciated.  I will be visiting with several of my grandchildren later this month, so will attempt to have them show me how to copy and paste the info to Rootschat for future.
