Wenson or Wensor Avenue SW Nottingham 1937 - Completed, thanks
« on: Wednesday 09 July 08 13:26 BST (UK) »
My great grandmother's death certificate has her place of death as 8 Wenson or Wensor Avenue in sub-district Nottingham South West. I can not find it on modern maps and would be grateful if someone would be able to locate it for me.

Many thanks

Hello Steve

That would be great especially if they are the original buildings - provided that it is not too much trouble and does not get you arrested....

She died in January 1937. Her name was Susannah Jones (nee Lawson), widow of Alfred John Jones, who had a tailor's shop in Radford Boulevard (he died the year before). The informant was her son in law, H Stanley, who I believe to be Harold Stanley, who married Gwendoline Lawson Jones Q4 Nottingham 1917. She is my great aunt. If your mother has any information on the family (or knows anyone who might) I would be very grateful.

Thanks

Hi  :) I've spoke to my mum and she doesn't know if they are original or not but the houses have been there at least forty years, thats as long as she has lived around the corner. I have taken some photo's unfortunately they have a rather large hedge so much of the house is obscured. If you could PM me your e-mail address i Will send you the photo's i have taken.
