Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has any information on the molonys of county Clare. Specifically the following.

Michael Molony and Catherine Hurley (married Kilmurry parish in 1848).
They had a number of children, the first of which was a John Molony born about 1850. Any information on him would be greatly appreciated. i.e what became of him. I believe he may have left Ireland in the 1860s, to live in England.

Secondly, a Timothy molony and wife Eileen (Ellen) Mullane. Was there any link between Timothy and Michael. i.e were they brothers.

many thanks

Marmitch

Hello Marmitch,

I looked in Surname Search and found the name Molony. I double checked for the two names in the one parish and again there are several alternatives.

Michael Molony, Binvoran, Kilmurry, Clare and some Hurley families are also found in Kilmurry ,Co. Clare Both the sites refer to the period of Griffith's Valuation of Ireland 1848 - 1864 http://www.failteromhat.com/clare.htm

Best Wishes, Christopher
