They would have to apply to the College of Arms who would almost certainly insist on a difference being applied to the shield and crest.

I have seen some Arms where the Arms have had a canton added to reflect the name change but I have found others with no discernible differences.  I am in the process of recording those that I found HERE.
Plowman - Dorset
Gollop - Dorset
Taunton - Dorset
Carver - Norfolk
Oyns - all
Tweedy - all
