Homes for children in Birmingham 1880-1890
« on: Thursday 17 July 08 10:09 BST (UK) »
Hello
can anyone tell me of any other names of homes/orphanages for children in Birmingham in the 1880-1890 period .I have found the Middlemore home for emigrant children in the 1891 census but it would seem that they sent their children to Canada.I am looking for information on children /young adults sent to Australia  if it exists.
Any pointers on where to be looking would be greatly appreciated.
kindest regards
