Walter T CHIDGEY - birth & marriage - look up please

Am having a problem to find a birth for Walter Chidgey. Killed WW1, Belgium, age unknown.. married Alice Palmer, living at Over Stowey, Somerset with son Albert + siblings when killed. Have tried the 1901 census. 1 Walter born Bridgwater, but living Padstow for census, does not feel right ! another at Watchet but occupation does not tie up with ag lab history of family!?? - can anyone help please..

Thanks Alli - think I will have to start with their marriage cert for his age and fathers name.. was trying to cut costs 

Have learnt since I posted request that his other childrens names were Elsie, Arthur, Violet. Alice remarried after he was killled and went on to have 4more... 2nd husband no good and Albert stayed at home until he was 30 to help his mother....then he married my Aunt..

Thanks for PM Niseone - posting a possible census here so we can find it again if we need to get back to it. So Walter was born ca. 1888 and his father was Thomas. How about this boy - does Thomas occupation match?

Intriguing - in 1901 the same family are called Coles (but the census confirms that Walter was Walter T):

They were indeed called Coles as well, John's mother could never understand why her father-in-law Walter was sometimes refered too as Coles as well as Chidgey, her husband Albert was Chidgey.. I wondered if it was because Walter was illigitimate, but that's seems not to be the case..
thank you so much, I have sat here for days trying to break through and getting nowhere..

Next door, a household headed by George Chiggey age 37 and family. They have a 6 year old son John, so I'm presuming Thomas didn't belong to George but was born illegitimately to one of Sam and Fanny's daughter's.

Ah! facinating.. so Thomas' father could have been a Coles perhaps?

Well I guess I must try to find a birth entry for Walter now and then Thomas..

Hmm time to go and enjoy the sunshine now and mull this over... I am off to the Quontock hills .. very near to Stogursey

The 1841 census shows a Kate age 15 in the household of Samuel and Maria Chidgey - I was hoping to find a marriage for her to a Mr Coles but I'm not having any luck unfortunately. Maybe a complete red herring!
