Roseden- Dickinson
« on: Monday 21 July 08 14:54 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find the marriage of John Dickinson (1806-Embleton) to Winifred (1807-Roseden) . I have found baptism records for their children in Embleton but no record of their marriage. So I tried nearer to Roseden with Ilderton, Wooler and Alnwick still no joy ???
Has anyone got any bright suggestions as where I can look next?

Hi

I notice that daughter Isabella was b 1847 so a copy of her birth cert will at least give Winifred's maiden name.  Sorry - can't help with the marriage

Cheviot Street Presbyterian Church in Wooler has a baptism of a Winifred Hunter, daughter of George & Isabel Hunter of Roseden, Ilderton parish, born 12 October 1806, baptised 19 October 1806

Hope this may help.

Hi

It only gets you another step back if Winifred Hunter married John Dickinson.  If it's the wrong Winifred you could be off on the wrong track

As I said in my earlier reply - you need to buy a copy of Isabella's 1847 birth cert to be absolutely certain

Yes I realise that and I've also come across some conflicting info in the Wooler baptisms.... Found George Hunter married Isabella Wills (not Isabel) they had 3 daughters between 1805 and 1808 - 2 of whom died before their first birthday. Will order certificate.
