catherine mckenzie/mackenzie b abt1870

I wonder if any one can help?  I am trying to find the parents of catherine mckenzie born in laxey abt 1870. In 1871 she is living with a family  called Chisholm in Birkenhead aged 1,  boarder. She has vanished in 1881 and I have 1891 onwards. Her wedding certificate names her father as Daniel but I am not sure if she has put down Daniel Chisholm as father 

Any help or info on how to get a birth certificate would be greatly appreciated.

compulsory registration did not start until 1877/8 so unless a voluntary reg (unusual - check http://iomfhs.im/ under research where an index is available ) or you can find a baptism (on IGI )or borrow copies of films of parish regs (see http://www.manxnotebook.com under genealogy for details etc) you are probably going to be unlucky - name is unusual on Island and there are no directories between 1863 + 1882

Thanks for that, I do not believe she is our Catherine, I think I have checked her in the past and have not come up with a connection.  Thanks again anyway. Ever searching
