My great grandmother Emily Bradshaw nee Hall, wrote a letter to her husband John dated 17/07/1878 from 28, Derby Road. She was here recouperating from 'chest pains and coughing blood'. She died the following year.
Is it posible to find out whether this was a guest house, sanatorium or whether she may even have been staying with relatives? Is it ossible to find ot the names of the owner of this house?

Turns out that only Douglas has such an address.


In 1881 occupied by a 60 year old Widow called Kewley, 2 dau's, a son, a Grandson and her unmarried brother and Sister called Duggan - all born IOM.


Oh and an unmarried niece born England - Mary Duggan age 23

Many thanks for your time. It looks as if it is an ordinary house. I don't recognise the surnames.

simple lookup on www.manxnotebook.com reveals in 1883 under lodging houses Kewley Mrs., apartments, 28 Derby road
any thing with a Manx Connection
