jersey marriage
« on: Tuesday 22 July 08 16:34 BST (UK) »
Would it be possible for someone to look for a marriage between John (Jean) Le Vesconte b c1827 St Peters and Rachel Dorey b c 1825 St Helier.  Their 1st child was born in September 1846 in St Helier so I assume the marriage would have been prior to this.

Many thanks

Angie

Hi Angie

There is an entry in the index for Trinity Marriages, August 1842 to April 1868 for Rachel Dorey on page 42. John Le Vesconte is on the same page.

There is a baptism record for Rachel Dorey in St Helier dated 16th March 1821. Parents were George Dorey and Rachel Poingdestre.

In St Peter there is a baptism record for Jean Le Vesconte dated 1st December 1825 and 19th February 1826 (the same record). Parents were Philippe Le Vesconte and Elizabeth Pirouet.
