F. Dempsey in U.S. 1916?
« on: Thursday 24 July 08 12:21 BST (UK) »
Have an obituary for Col. Patrick Joseph Dempsey who died 24 June 1916 at Mullahinch, Aghadowey, Co. Londonderry, Ireland. Parents were Francis Dempsey and Sarah Hunter.
Long newspaper obituary mentions one sister (married) in London and another a nun (believed to have died in 1940s) and one brother in America.
I know of two brothers and I'm wondering if one of these is the one in the U.S. (don't know what happened to either).
-Frederick James Dempsey was baptised 14 Nov.1852 in Ireland.
-Francis James Dempsey was born 31 Dec.1873 at Mullahinch.
Strangely enough neither brother or sisters Mary, Kate and Agnes mentioned in Col. Dempsey's Will- all bequests are to sister Annie who kept house for him and sons of his Dempsey cousins.

Can anyone spot Frederick or Francis anywhere in U.S.?

Thank you so much for those Grub. Looks like a very good possiblity for the missing Frederick. Probably should be in 1910 census also. Will have a look at Ellis Island to see if he went to U.S. via New York now that I have an approx date of entry.
