I think you will need to get their birth certificates for their names  of their parents.

They cost £7 from here http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

register
page one, fill in details and scroll down to answer YES you have index reference
page two, delivery details
page three, fill in the 'red starred' bits.

Now you need the index references!

Is it possible to get more definite information?

for instance - is Harry Clarkson a Harry or a Henry?  Are your parents still about to ask?

Hi

You need copies of your grandparents birth certificates to find their parents names which will hopefully enable a search of the 1901 census

Was he born as Harry or Henry/Harold.  Do you already have his parents names?

There is a Harry Clarkson birth in 1920 in the Dewsbury district - mothers maiden name was Woodhouse

There is another in 1920 in Bridlington - mothers maiden name Clarkson

Is this Annie

Sorry for being vague with details, here's what I know!

Harry Clarkson was born about 1920 in Bridlington his parents were John Clarkson and Mary Watson.

Annie Myers, his wife, was younger than Harry and born Leeds. She died about 1894 aged about 59 though she had remarried and her surname is unknown.

I had seen the possible birth with David Myers and Margaret Mulhaire as parents but couldn't find the siblings which my mother said she had which include a Billy, Tommy, Elsie and possibly Gladys.

Margaret Bell, who married Bernard Davey, her mother's surname was Garland.

I'm hoping to get as much info as is possible without certs as to buy all would be quite an outlay. If I need to buy one or two to get on then I shall!  :)
