On the marriage cert of Mary ann Cant and B Ward,  the witness 's are John Cant and Susannah Cant and John was  Shipwright.

THis seems to be them in 1841.

At Gravel Lane,Christchurch,Surrey.

Bartholomew Ward 26 bookbinder yes born in county of Surrey
Ann Ward 25 b Surrey
William Ward 1 (not sure if says year or month?) b Surrey
Susan Cant 20 ( I think it says Stocking M ie maker) b Scotland.

Although she is named as Ann,I'm pretty sure it's them

But if she's saying yes to being born in Surrey,she can't have been born in Deptford-maybe she wasn't sure where her birth actually took place.

So the conclusion is......we ain't sure where Mary Ann was born 

If that Susan(Susannah) is her sister then it might be Scotland.

Hmmmmm.

At least it's opened it up from just Deptford!
