The old family Bibles are really a treasure, for information and as a collection for your family. I just posted a comment for a member about her old family bible.
My comment was that I had found my ggrdmoms confirmation bible with inscriptions. It took a long time to figure out the awful writing, but more important was the deteriation of the pages, brittle, torn and generally falling apart. I see the pages in your Bible are stained and this is usually a sign of the paper becoming a bit deteriated. My advise to the other member was to take the Bible to a conservator of books and see what can be done to prevent further deteriation. Usually a good museum will have information on conservators.
Its well worth the effort.
