Crealy
« on: Sunday 27 July 08 05:26 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I am looking for any information on Nicholas Crealy c1818b.  He was sentenced on the 15th jan 1847 in Smithfield, Dublin and transported to Tasmania in 1849 on the 'Blenheim' sentenced for 7years.

I have no other information on him prior to the conviction and would love to find out who, where, what he was before being shipped out to Australia.

Thanks in Advance for any info forwarded to me.

Cheers
Lynda

hello lynda,
apparently crealy is not a common name,

samuel creely, clonmakate, tartaraghan
anne crealy,eglish
jane crealy, teagy
john crealy, teagy
owen crealy, gallrock
thomas crealy,cranagill
thomas crealy, teagy
all of the above were in tartaraghan parish.

it might give you somewhere to start,

If he died in Australia his death certificate might give some information like names of parents (if the informant knew the details and depending what's on the death certificates at the time and for that State).
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
