Thanks for these many and varied responses (for some reason they are not appearing in my e-mails).
I think in the sad case of Easter JOHNSON, the timing of her birth, very brief life and subsequent burial was the significant naming reason,

Hello All

I have a grand-daughter Esther. When she was born my daughter and her husband (he is Samoan ) did consider calling her Eseta which is the Samoan version of Esther...........
