John & Elizabeth WATKINS of Bermondsey/Newington, married 1828
« on: Friday 01 August 08 10:40 BST (UK) »
Is anyone descended from this couple:

John WATKINS, bachelor, married in St Mary Newington in 1828.  Age unknown.  Appears to still be living in 1839 (according to rate books) but cannot find in 1841 census. Not at the address - in Bermondsey - where he was the ratepayer.

and his wife

Elizabeth WATKINS, widow, formerly BUTTEN nee DOCKREE. She was bapt 1797 in Shenley, Herts, dau of Thomas DOCKREE and Hannah FRAY. Had first married James BUTTEN of Bermondsey in 1820, and James died 1826. Again, can't find in 1841 census.

IGI has 2 possible children:
William WATKINS, bapt 1832 in St Mary Magdalene Bermondsey
Elizabeth WATKINS, bapt 1834 in St Mary Magdalene Bermondsey

Any information on this couple, their whereabouts in the census, dates of death or details of children gratefully received.

Many thanks,
Mark
