« on: Saturday 02 August 08 17:23 BST (UK) »
Have been unable to find any reference to Ernest G Cousins, believed killed WW1 in CWGC.. he was my G Grandmothers foster son and I have photo's of him in uniform. Only info I have is 7th Kings Liverpool Reg, he was born in Liverpool.

Also her nephew Archie Mcnaught -  L/Bombr  1030 245 RFA, 30th Battery, 10th Brigade - Army of the black Lea ? Also Liverpool born I believe. I do not know what became of him.

Hello Niseone,

There are only two casualties from the 7th on CWGC, the closest being this one, which matches kyts MIC, although there seems to be a name difference.

Do the family details tie up?

Hi Niseone

Following with the info Kyt and Phil have given you, if this Ernest is your man there is a little more info on his service record........

His father is stated as John Williams living at (Iris)? Street Kirkdale who was sent Ernests medals and his mother Mary Cousins was sent his personal property after his death.

There is a little more info' if you would like me to post it.

Hello again Niseone,

That's a pretty comprehensive record you've got for Ernest.

I'm still struggling with Archie.
Where did your service details for him come from?
So far I can only see one Archibald McNaught in the RFA; Driver 43556.

Wow guys, I am overwhelmed with your help. I would love to post a picture of Ernie if I knew how to. I have moved in with someone who's PC is very basically set up and not very IT literate, so am on a BIG learning curve. I hope to resolve it very soon and will do asap..

My info for Archibald is very sketchy from odd bits and bobs left by my maternal grandmother, these were her family. her grandmother's sister was Alice Mcnaught (nee Birchall/Burchall), have no name for husband.

Do have a James and Mab McNaught as witness' at Caroline Williams marriage, Alice's niece, her sister Caroline & John William's daughter....( are you still with me  ::) they were the foster parents of Ernie, shown in 1881 census with them as a 'nursing child' !

Wow..not sure this helps you but it has me.. ;D
