Yes, we probably are very distantly related :) I have managed to trace some other relatives over the web in the last couple of years!

Well, the Edward Coonagh who married Elinor Birney was born in 1788. From a relative who's done some research, it looks as if he was born in Inishmacsaint in Donegal. The name Edward (and Phillip) has actually stayed with the Coonagh family for years and years. My Father is called Edward ... it can all get a little confusing!

As I mentioned, some relatives have recently put together a Coonagh family tree, which would probably help you shed some light on your connection. It needs updating still  - my side of the family needs to be added on. But, I have to send you an 'invite' to your email.... I don't know if there is an option on this site to send a 'private' message - but if there is, drop me a line with your email and I'll send the invite to the www.myheritage.com page.

Gosh - there's Coonagh's all over the world!! :)
