William Pitt and family  1841 census at Stile House, Pensax, Lindridge, Worc
1851 census at Callow Hill Bewdley, Far Forest, Worc.
William gives his place of birth as Padiham, Hereford.
I cannot find any such place.  Can anyone shed light on this birthplace?

Welcome to RootsChat Loisp   :)

Genuki only shows one Padiham, in Lancashire ...  :-\ Looking at the census image, I'm not at all sure it reads  Padiham anyway. There seems to be an n somewhere - looks like Penkhome to me.

Looking at genuki's list of Hereford Parishes:
http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/HEF/Parishes.html#P

I'm wondering if it's a mistranscribed Pencombe

Tati,
Thank you for that. That name makes sense. Pencome is split by the page join in my atlas so didn't see it properly.
