James Raeburn

Hi Everyone -

I am looking for information on this individual.  He was born in Inverkeithny?
Banffshire 1873-1874 time frame.  In the 1901 census, he was a boarder in the household of William & Jane Sheerin, on Stobcross St. in Glasgow.  It is believed William Sheerin died in some sort of accident in New York and that Jane and James married - although I am unable to find marriage certificate.  They had, I believe, 3 children:  Alice Raeburn ( born 1905? death 1969?) who married  Stuart Barclay; Olive Raeburn (born 10 May 1910, death 1966) who married James McGhee; and James Raeburn (date of birth/death unknown).  I believe he and his wife, Helen or Heather) (partner?) had twins.  Jane died in 1939 and James Sr. was still living according to the death certificate.

I would very much like to hear from anyone with information.

Were all the Raeburn children born in the USA and did they marry there?

The only James Raeburn on the 1881 census that fits the age frame and birthplace is this one.  Everybody b Gamrie except James snr

Hi Carole - thanks for your reply.

All the Raeburn children were born in Scotland (Glasgow area) married and I presume died there as well, with the exception of Olive, who I know passed in England 1966.

The 1901 census shows James Raeburn, living with the Sheerins, as being born in Inverkeithny, Banffshire - it shows his age to be either 25 or 28 years old (unable to make it out).  I have hit a brick wall.
