Got so excited when I saw this post that 1881 census images are now available that I went straight to L.A.C. site and typed in one of my uncommon surnames in Nova Scotia. Sure enough up came a listing of 49 people with the surname. Then I spotted one that I didn't know- 40 year old Jainshas?? (female)- so I went to the page and found her- 49 year old Jerusha! Didn't notice anywhere to submit corrections as in Automated Genealogy site which is a shame.

P.S. while 'Jerusha' is not a common name as was a bit difficult to read the '49' was extremely clear and there's not doubt what it is.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Thanks Karen and Tom,
It's exciting to have the 1881 census at hand. It saves me putting more gas in the car ;D ... I'm also looking forward to seeing the rest of the census on-line.
Kate

FYI ... 1881 transciption errors can be submitted by email to LAC
