Hi

I've attached a photo which I recently obtained from Australia. It was taken in Dunoon by A stuart photographer, does anyoneknow anything about the uniform or the possible date of the photo?

Here is the back of the photo, I think it is the royal scots fusiliers?

Was just browsing through and came across your query.  I have not got the foggiest about this kind of thing ??? although my boyfriend seems to think the uniform is The Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders.

From the style of photograph (the pose and set etc.) and the card it's mounted to, I'd say this dates from the second half of the 1870s.  :)

Hope that helps - you could post a message on the ARmed Forces board on Rootschat, with a link back to this topic (just copy and paste the URL in the address bar of your browser).  The people who lurk on that board will no doubt be able to help more with the uniform!
