JAMES KINCH or KENCH
« on: Sunday 17 August 08 21:15 BST (UK) »
Any help please.
I wonder if anyone might have access to the marriage transcripts for Wymering Hapmshire where ?x Great grandparents were married.
James Kinch ( name varient Kench) & Jane Northeast on 6th January 1796.
I would like to know if it states James's place of residence or birth and witnesses.
Thanks in antisipation

Welcome to RootsChat.  :)

I can't give you a precise answer, but I can tell you that James' place of birth is the one thing it won't give.  :(  It may tell you that he was "otp" (of this parish) at the time of the marriage or of a different parish, but that is only where he lived at that time.

There should be some witnesses names, though.

I wonder if this is his baptism though:

James Kinch, son of Hayter & Mary (nee Simmons) Kinch, baptised 6 May 1769 in Fareham. Hayter & Mary married 28 Sep 1766 in Fareham.

There was an older son, Hayter, baptised in 1767.  He became an artist, died 1844.  Hayter Kinch senior seems to have been a wheelwright in Fareham, buried in 1820 in Fareham Independent church.

I found this burial as well:
James Hayter Kinch, 13 Jul 1804 in Fareham

Any use?
