She is shown as a lodger in 1871 - what makes you think she is a daughter Liz?  Wonder who "Nurse child" Alice Bumstead age 1 is.  Born before marriage??

Lucy married in the March qtr of 1871 think this is before the census of that year.

Indeed - the Lucy Bumstead in 1871 that we found as a lodger (no, no not a daughter - what idiot said she was that?) is indeed married, and of the correct age, and born Camberwell

Only a couple of Lucys of any sort bn right time in Canmberwell, just looking to see if any marry Bumsteads...

No - not getting anywhere with 1861

I think that the best move is to get that marriage cert for Bumstead/Bumstead

This will
a) clarify their ages, hopefully, so we know we are after the right ones in the censuses
b) hopefully give a fathers name and occuption for Lucy, which might help find her as a child
c) Say if Lucy had been married before, and if we are lucky give a previous surname.

Agreed - coupled with the Birth Cert of 1873 James - I've seen diffn names used on Marriage and Birth Certs !
