After much sending/receiving of e-mails and letters between the Archives and myself,

I have decided to use an independant researcher. Could anyone give me the name of a reasonably priced, efficent person to use.

The Nat Archives do have a list of independant researchers:

http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/irlist/

I've not used any but it's worth looking at the list. There are various specialisms so that you can take your pick.

I remember looking through the list a few years back but the page has changed now.
