Pulteneytown

How would a local pronounce this.
My mum's ancestors are from here.
I've always said "pul ten i town" but i had a Pulteney whisky last night and the guy that gave me it called it "pull tni"

I'm not that local being from Inverness but I've always pronounced it "pull tni".

You're welcome. I've spoken to a friend from Thurso and her reply was " "pull tni" - I think."  :D She's still young enough for that silly Thurso/Wick rivalry to be present.  ;)

Born in Wick in that area we pronounced it Pooltny
