Help read this please?!
« on: Thursday 27 January 05 19:47 GMT (UK) »
I don't know how to post a section directly from the census image sorry.

The family in question is on 1901 living in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.

Head: Joseph Ed Williams
Wife: Mary Ellen Williams
Son: Edward H A G Williams
Daug: Elsie M Jane Williams
Son: Harold C Baden Williams

The bit I'm having problems reading is the first son Edward's place of birth. It's transcribed as Great Woolstone, but to me looks like Great Woolaston? Never heard of it.

Also after Joseph's place of birth it says something in the last column which I can't read either.

If anyone could have a look and tell me what they think, it'd be very helpful. Can't find Joseph on previous census either. ???

Thanks!

Hi,

I would say it is Great Woolaston, Salop.

The word I think is 'Mont' after Forden Welshpool.  I'm not sure, but would that indicate an area or something?

Regards, Emma ;)

Thankyou Emsworthy and JanetM.

Yes Montgomery makes sense now you've said it, and def think it's Great Woolaston.
