Here's the same Jones family in 1891 that I found in 1901

1891 RG12/3105  Folio 43  Page 7
23 Minter St, Horwich
JONES
Thomas 39 General Labourer  Liverpool
Jane      30                           Bolton
Emily      8  Scholar              Rochdale
Albert      6      "                         "
Annie      4      "                         "
William 8months                   Horwich

Horwich comes under the Bolton registration district, and there was a Stanley Jones birth registered there in  Mar 1902 so after the 1901 census
Jones    Stanley         Bolton    8c   496

As wozzle said, we need to know Albert's father's occupation to be sure which Thomas Jones he is in the census

Thanks to everyone who took the trouble to respond - I'm overwhelmed!
The witnesses were Richard Cross and Bessie Davies - relationship to my parents un-known and sadly I don't know my g-father's accupation.
However, you all seem to have spotted the right event and the family details. I will attempt to slot them into my tree and see how they fit in.
Many thanks to all concerned.
I shall be away from home for the next 4 days but will pick up again on my return.
