Hi can anyone help, i am researching Catherine Lawson married Johnson Abrams on the 15th December 1863in Ramsay Isle of Man, I don't have any details of her family, could someone maybe tell me who to write to in Isle of Man,

Hi, Thanks for the quick reply, they had a son called Francis Abram orn in Glasgow, and his parents marriage date was 15th December 1863  in Ramsay Isle of Man, the strange thing is, I found this marriage on the IGI and it states that the mothers maiden name is Gale,

You  are   correct   with   latest  ref.   extracted   marriage  record   from   IGI   however   have   you
followed   ref   you  were   given  for   marriage  index?   The   marriage   is   not  there in  either   name.   Will
look  at  film   of   Parish   record.

The 1871 census shows Catherine was b IOM 1845 (no actual birthplace)  and Johnson was b Ireland

I have checked the 1851 IOM census but the only Catherine Lawson I can find was b Malew 1837

However - this is what you will find interesting

1861 census for Maughold IOM

Jane Lawson unmarried 46 charwoman b Jurby IOM
Catherine SALE dtr 15 b Patrick IOM

1851 IOM census for Maughold - I read image as Irvine but Ancestry have it indexed as Skinner.  Would appear that Catherine was illegitimate
